Abby Walker, MSWi

I’m currently pursuing my Master of Social Work through the University of Kentucky’s online program, with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. I’m especially passionate about exploring the connection between the nervous system and emotional healing. Studying how science and compassion intersect has deepened my commitment to this work, and I find joy in applying what I learn to real-life healing journeys.

I’m drawn to the work of healing because I believe clarity is one of the greatest gifts we can offer each other. In a world that often feels confusing and overwhelming, I have a deep desire to help individuals find their next right step—rooted in wisdom, faith, and compassion.

I grew up in a family that deeply valued holistic health—nurturing the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected parts of well-being. Because of this foundation, the integrative approach at Ascend feels like a natural fit. I’m honored to be part of a team that recognizes the fullness of what it means to heal.

Abby's Role

At Ascend, I bring a discerning presence and a thoughtful approach to each session. My goal is to help clients feel safe, understood, and supported as they navigate their own healing path. Whether working with adolescents or adults, I listen deeply, ask intentional questions, and walk alongside each person with evidence-based tools and genuine care.

I’m excited to continue developing as a clinician—deepening my understanding of evidence-based modalities and expanding my ability to serve each client with skill and heart. I see this internship as a meaningful opportunity to grow and contribute, as I learn from both clients and colleagues in this sacred work of restoration.

Training & Education

I am attending a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Kentucky online.  I love learning and researching and applying the truths of working within the nervous system to help people heal.  I will be finished with my degree in the Spring of 2026.
